Ozone Depleting Substances Regulation

State of play

On 5 April 2022, the European Commission published a legislative proposal that would repeal and replace the 2009 Regulation on Ozone-depleting substances (ODS). The proposal introduces no notable changes relevant for the HVACR sector. It maintains the general prohibition on ODS and the applicable exemptions such as for feedstocks. The proposal is with Council and Parliament for co-decision.
