Next events
Tentatively it has been announced that there would be a Consultation Forum hosted by DG GROW in February and one by DG ENER as early as March.
Current priorities
DG ENER is accompanying the revision of the Energy Labelling Directive. If a political agreement is reached between the Council and Parliament during the trilogue meeting scheduled for 21 March, DG ENER would like to call a stakeholder meeting on the database before the summer break.
The policy officers are working on the review of existing regulation. At present Lot 11 Electric Motors is being dealt with. The Impact Assessment study is being prepared and will be submitted to the Regulatory Scrutiny Board. If this Impact Assessment passes the Regulatory Scrutiny Board the next files that will be progressed are Lot 11 Fans and/or Lot 31 Compressors.
The published regulations will be checked to establish the timing for the respective review studies.
Recommended action
The Product Groups should invite the policy officers to their next meeting. As it is becoming more difficult for policy officers to meet outside Brussels, these meetings would need to take place in Brussels.
