Silk Road set of seminars – call for papers (GEN – 695.00)

23 May 2016

GEN – 695.00. China Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Industry Association (CRAA), Chinese Association of Refrigeration (CAR), World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies (WSSET), Xi’an Polytechnic University and University of Hull are organizing the 1st conference of a series of conferences that would be organised in cities along the “Silk Road” with the last conference taking in Europe.

The conference is organised under the translated title as “1st ‘The belt and road initiative’ international conference on sustainable refrigeration and air conditioning (the 1st ‘TBRI’ ICSHVAC)”.

The first conference will take place in Xi’an on 19, 20 and 21 October 2016.

It is not clear where and when the next conferences would take place. The Chinese association CRAA has indicated that this set of conferences has been agreed upon and will take place.

The “conference executive committee” asked on 13 May 2016, if Eurovent would be one of the supporting organisations. Eurovent has agreed to this and as a consequence the Eurovent name will appear in the publications of this and future meetings.

The deadline for abstracts originally set for 15 May has been extended for Eurovent to 15 June. The final paper and presentation should be ready by 15 August.

CRAA would very much welcome a contribution from Eurovent. The conference announcement is included for your reference. Nine major topics are proposed (see GEN 695.02). You may note that there is a slight discrepancy between the title of the seminar and subjects covered.

CRAA indicated that they would prefer that Eurovent (or his members) make a presentation on Evaporative Cooling. If there would be suggestions for other topics, these would be welcome too.

Experience has shown that presentations in English, even with simultaneous translation, are not optimal for a Chines public. Hence it would be useful to have the presentation in Chinese. Members with access to Chinese colleagues could ask them to provide the presentation in Chinese.

Recommendation

Members who are interested in the Chinese market and wishing to make a presentation should inform the organisers and provide the Eurovent secretariat with a copy. Eurovent could also consider to make a contribution.
