Improving Energy Efficiency in Commercial Buildings and Smart Communities (IEECB&SC’18) (GEN – 868.00)

GEN – 868.00. The 10th international conference on Improving Energy Efficiency in Commercial Buildings and Smart Communities (IEECB&SC’18) takes place in Frankfurt (Germany) from 21-22 March 2018, during the Light+Building trade fair. Compared to previous years, the focus is shifting to energy efficiency in various types of commercial buildings beyond the lighting aspects.

Scope

The first IEECB conference took place in 1998 and was very much focused on lighting. By 2008 and resulting from eco-design developments for lighting equipment for commercial buildings, the focus continued to shift towards smart applications.

In general, the IEECB&SC conference is now attracting international researchers and experts on energy efficiency in non-residential buildings rather than on lighting.

In the 2018 edition, the focus will be put on topics of smart and sustainable districts, communities and cities, as energy systems efficiency and renewable energies are moving to optimisation at district or city level.

Recommended Actions

Manufacturers interested in making a presentation at this event should submit a two-page abstract by 5 February 2018 via email to paolo.bertoldi@ec.europa.eu.
