CIAR 2022 issues call for papers

The organisers of CIAR 2022 – XVI Ibero-American Congress on Air Conditioning and Refrigeration are inviting proposals for papers to be presented during the event. Interested potential speakers are invited to submit a 150-word abstract in English, Spanish, or Portuguese on the CIAR 2022 online submission platform before 1 October 2021. CIAR 2022 will take place in Lisbon, Portugal from 4 to 6 May 2022.

Proposals for technical-scientific or technical-commercial articles must meet the themes and topics of the congress:

  • Fundamentals and Applications
  • High Performance and Sustainable Buildings and Systems
  • Information and Communication Technologies for Smart Buildings
  • Innovative Solutions and Technologies
  • Refrigeration and Refrigerant fluids
  • Ventilation and Air Quality

Submissions can be done via the following link.

In addition to the paper’s title, the name of the author(s), and the author’s affiliation, the abstract should include 3 to 5 keywords and indicate at least one of the topics listed above. The proposed abstracts will be reviewed by the Congress Technical-Scientific Committee and the authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection by 1 November 2021.

If accepted, the speakers will be invited to elaborate their abstract into a paper of 4 to 7 pages and a presentation of either 15 minutes or 6 minutes and 40 seconds, depending on the speaker’s choice and available slots. The final documents will also be reviewed by CIAR 2022’s Technical-Scientific Committee before integration into the final congress program.

All accepted papers will be published in CIAR 2002’s proceedings book. In addition, selected papers will be also published in the technical magazine “AVAC&R Revista Técnica do Ar Condicionado e da Refrigeração”.

CIAR 2022 – XVI Ibero-American Congress of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration is an event that will bring together practitioners, industry professionals, policy makers, government officials, researchers and academics from various worldwide locations. It is organised by the Portuguese Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (EFRIARC) together with the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering (LNEC) and the House of Latin America (CAL), aiming to promote the dissemination of knowledge, technical and scientific debate in the fields of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration, with special emphasis on the challenges and opportunities of the 14 associated countries of FAIAR – Federation of Ibero-American Associations of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
