GEN – 697.00. This study is carried out for DG GROW and should be finished by February 2017. The outcome of the study may become a point systems methodology that could be applied to products (and systems) that are capable of carrying out different functions.
The consortium has just published an 82 page Task 2 report on state of the art methods on the project website: https://points-system.eu/documents.
Comments should be emailed before 17 June 2016 to Paul Waide: paul@waide.co.uk.
The first of two stakeholder meetings will take place on 30 June 2016 in the DG GROW Breydel building in Brussels (address 45 Avenue d’Auderghem/45 Oudergemselaan 1049 Brussels. The number of places for participants would be limited to one per association.
Companies who have registered in April to the project website should have received an individual invitation.
The methodology would apply to for example professional washing machines/ driers, which are considered complex. It is possible/likely that the point systems could in future also be applied to products that combine heating and cooling functionalities, heating and hot water functionalities or that integrate other functionalities.
It is not known yet for which two product groups the proposed methodology would be evaluated.
Recommended Action
It may prove useful to interested companies and associations to register as a stakeholder for this study: https://points-system.eu/register_website.
Those wishing to attend the stakeholder meeting on 30 June 2016 should register before 10 June https://points-system.eu/register_meeting, however it is not certain that your participation would be granted. Commenting on the Task 2 report would enhance the chances to be accepted for the stakeholder meeting.
