Dear members and partners of the Eurovent family,
On behalf of our entire Team, I would like to wish you a nice holiday season. It is our wish that the New Year brings us all lots of new business opportunities, health, and happiness. Let me express our highest gratitude to all of you for the continued and unmatched support.
I would like to express a special thank you to the Chairmen and many dedicated persons of our Product Groups, who voluntary walk an extra mile to bring our joint industry ideals forward, and to our Secretary General and his Team.
In 2018, we are entering the 60th year since our association’s foundation. Since 1958, we have been shaping our industry, always aiming to stay true to our values, democratic principles, and being a voice for each of you. The anniversary year will be accompanied by special activities and a celebration during the Eurovent Summit 2018 in Seville in September, to which you are all cordially invited.
For the Eurovent Association and its independent subunits Eurovent Certification and Eurovent Market Intelligence, 2017 was marked with lots of developments, of which I would like to share a few.
At the Eurovent Association, a key step within our ongoing generational change has marked the assignment of Mr Francesco Scuderi as Deputy Secretary General. We further strengthened our focus on Indoor Air Quality, lobbying and standardisation activities while reinforcing our cooperation with REHVA and partners. Eurovent experienced its highest ever rise in membership numbers. With the Swiss association ProKlima and the Portuguese association EFRIARC joining, our industry family is now home to manufacturers all across Europe and the Middle East.
Founded in late 2016, our chapter Eurovent Middle East today counts more than 35 member companies, which share high quality ideals and a strong desire to bring the region’s standards forward. In a short time, it has developed into one of the most acknowledged industry stakeholders in the region.
Within Eurovent Market Intelligence, data provided by 300+ manufacturers reflect a stable development the European HVACR market. Most markets and product areas have developed well. Major growth drivers were a positively developing European economy and EU legislative requirements. The outlook for the upcoming years is encouraging.
Our subunit Eurovent Certification, which runs the globally known ‘Eurovent Certified Performance’ schemes, is experiencing steadily rising participation numbers, with an increasing global recognition across their 40+ certification programmes. These are in line with forward-thinking European Union legislation, reflecting the state-of-the-art in technological developments and energy classification.
In 2018, we will take steps towards further increasing our member satisfaction. An even bigger focus will be put on Indoor Air Quality, EU legislation, internationalisation, and in strengthening the unity of our industry inside and outside Europe.
